Last friday send my car to my regular mechanic for seat replacement. then when tehy tried to start i cudn't start but all system are good. at first we tot is the wiring problem but engine sounds find. after awhile decided to open up the crank case,

guess wat we found??... its the blurdy oil pump parts in the crankcase!!

dis is my damage.

1. oil pump
2. crankshaft scratch (hopefully can b rebuilt by polishing it.
3. haven't determine whether block usable or not. waiting for engineering shop to confirm.
4. main bearing damage. its looks like it has been damage for quite sumtime.
5. broken motor oil squirt.

wat make us wonder is,

1. the pump still good but how can it dislocate fromi its original location?
2. due to main bearing damage, how can the engine still runs normal?
3. if no oil flowing, shud it b overheat? temperature is normal.
4. wud it have any smoke sign if there is no oil in which damage the piston ring

wats ur opinion?

I blew my engine once, thats what pretty much happened to my car. open up the crank case, same shit... one of the rod bearing is totally gone, lol. was driving slow 35mph=35*1.6kmh it was snowing, then boom suddently no power and it stalls. and yeah my oil pump failed(common honda problem). so yeah its normal in your case.

understood for old engine and sh1t happen. but wat puzzle us as i mention my 1st posting, it shud give's out sum symptom cos from the look of the main bearing. it completely lack of oil. but best part is the conrod bearing survive wif perfect score!! how odd. im using king's bearing. maybe confirm that thing really last long.

i guess the bearing can cause lots of problem
imagine the bearing pieces floating here n there
get stuck here n there can cause more damage

i opt to ACL bearing every 8 months, change em now and then haha

best bai...bombproof engine but then no tell tale signs of damage initially...

hahahhaha...

BTW...your engine got remove balance shaft or not?

Just curious is it really necessary to have the balancer shaft on the 4G63? Coz i notice some engine builders remove it after so call "dynamic" balancing?

mitonct26,
yes i did remove it.

lucky the bearing din came off from its seat. but it sure 'hangus' already. so far, king's bearing does perform well. I have ordered new main bearing and hopefully my crankshaft reusable. psiton and block stil usable but need to get replacement of my oil squirt hose. wat a day!
