just wanna ask....

i got a quotation of changing my td04 twin fin to td05 16g big twin fin using back the original housing...quoted around RM 1.1k plus totally overhaul the turbo....

or should i just buy a 2nd hand tdo5 16g big for rm650.....muahahahaha...donno laaa....need advice

i think if use back the original housing will hv better response...

correct me if i'm wrong..

running a larger wheel in ur 6cm housing may run a risk of choking...

for me i tink 1.1k is a good price
u can get td05 16g for around 650-850 and even more for big 16g
but 1.1k for a total overhauled one , go get it and no more headache for the time being lar... u take 650 , then u sell urs for 400 , 250 u pay
when the 650 turbine gives problem then u got to pay around 500 -700 to do up the turbine back including opening up ur manifold , change gasket and all

so the advice is....get the td05 16 g....

used first untill kong....

then do the hybrid?

i asked the mech again about using the original housing of td05 combine with the outlet tdo4...he said i have to find a good tdo5 then take my tdo4 they service it clean it polish it untill look like new for rm800...so big tdo5 is like what rm650 to rm900 so it be like rm 1450 to rm 1700...

correct me if im wrong...how about that deal....or did u guys know anywhere elz can get cheaper?

aiyak u already got a vr4 i/cooler
erm try pm Speedz1665 , he is running on td05 16g on his gsr ..

if u find a really good td05 16g then better plonk the whole thing
only god knows when it will give way
what i meant was get the serviced one.
if u getting a 2nd hand and then it kongs ,double work , double workmanship summore bro..

Pardon me but..
Would a hybrid involve changing center hoursing? Or just changing the turbine, compressor will be enough?

Don't neglect the cost of upgrading the fuelling and management.

As the boost pressure is bumped up, you have to look into those areas as well.

Does Center housing means CHRA? If so, no.

theres a lot u can do in hybrid...u can change the compressor housing, the exzos housing, the fin etc.... but most importantly, balancing... once u change the spec, fins should be balance by using a special machine...dont just swap this n that without a proper calculation/tools....if not, the fin centre housing might collapse, broken fin shaft, extensive backpressure at hi rpms etc....

Would I have to worry about Turbine Shaft not being able to connect to the Compressor Impeller? Or did I get it wrong? I came across some diagrams for breakdown of a turbocharger's internals.. but I couldn't find information on how it is assembled (which part is connected to which part).. so I am just guessing here...

Mind telling me anyplace with the proper equipment for balancing turbochargers?
