just share info..u all take how long in the morning to idle from above 1k to below 1k rpm..my car took same time in the morning or noon or night to from 1k above to 1k below at 5-10 min..why it so long ya..is that a prob..but if after drive start again the rpm easily down to 1k rpm.using gze eng..

Mine is a GZE too, changed to No. 8 plugs and cold starts are a bitch.....mine takes longer to get higher...usually one crank is enough but the engine will kinda stall for a moment and then within a minute or two, will be at the normal 700 rpm range...

gee... modern engine and old engine sure is different...

it took 15min for my old engine to idle from 500-600rpm to 900-1k rpm

master_d sorry to ask..why mine after turn on the key..the rpm up to 2.5k the drop to 1.3k rpm..than took abot 6-10 min to down to 700-850 rpm..ade prob kah?my eng still stok 1..ae101 gze

my car when turn on d key d RPM goes up to near 2K..den drop to 1.2K..takes abt 5-10 minutes also be4 d RPM drop to below 1K..myne is 4e engine

that's normal...cool engine, below operating tempreture...
autochock play it's role...ur idling will go higher than normal...ok what...
mine also the same...cool start 1.6K...normal operating 1K...

So it mean normal la the eng will take 5-10 min to idle at below 1k rpm..but why my father gsr auto turbo 2-3 min can drop below 1k..i know it nothing but to long to wait before driving..my girl friend ask me why want to wait for the rpm..becoz she drive 1.3 satria..

that one u hv to ask other toyota sifoo...
BTW mine takes about 5-8 mins

mine same as most of u...

but one thing different is, whenever i stop from a fast drive..
the idle rise to 1500rpm again. then slowly comes down.
start driving and stop again.. same thing happens.

i wander if i change all the vacuum hose will help or not.
how much will that be? roughly..

try to service ur throttle...
i've sprayed mine, using "STP Carb Cleaner" - what EFN told me to do...
then things start to be OK...

Hmm,...mind have a talk here, well, before i using 4agze engine, is same problem with what u guys talk above, it take about 5-10 min, sometimes to warm up the engine, then the rpm will drop around 750-800, :( .....sometime early in the morning will got this stuff happen la   , .... actually is nothing happen on it. ;) if u using the sport thermostate, it will stay quiet long time to warm up la
artnet, i think is not the hose problems u know, did u check the vacumn is liking or somewhere broke??? my friend, ah kiat, also driving the 20v svt, last time he got this stuff of problems lar, but now it become normal. , since he broke the main fuse once cos the fuse is really some ages ago, and now the idle is beautiful. Also try to clean ur throttle lor as chinozie said  :o ....

normal maa... start car = 1.5k, 1 min 1.3k rpm, 1min 1.1k rpm, then jalan... no need to wait your car to drop until 800rpm regional

I think its normal for the car to rev abit higher after a long cool down period. My guess is its a coldstart thing controlled by the ISCV...wait, issit ICSV...I dunnola. Don't tembak if I'm wrong ok, noobie ma.

U can check out this link. Theres many articles on Toyota EFI systems.

FYI, mine idles at 1.1k at coldstart and drops to about 800 after about 3mins of driving. Dunno if it's normal? I just start, and drive, never wait :P
