OK guys some bad news for Campro engines people. I have done some checks and I think it may not be feasible to have a high performance engine. If want to run above 1 bar boost, the pistons and conrods would need to be replaced.

The problem is that no company offers them so custom is the only solution. I have checked with Wiseco, CP etc and the pistons cost around 600 euros for a set of 4. I check with Carillo and it would cost ~2000 Euros for 4 sets of custom conrods. Total would be around 2.6-2.7K Euros. That would be over SGD 4.6K or MYR 11K.

I think its possible to get an engine + gearbox swap with this amount and still produce more power than the build up campro.... :(

yeap....I love Proton cars....but so disappointed with lack of aftermarket products....everything need to be custom made. I wonder why proton don't have a collaboration with established customization and race product companies. Maybe proton is only for the lower income people who use it for daily driving purposes.

As for now, I'm going to put up my beloved neo cps for sale and going for JDM. :-(

mona vie...i think even other jap engine if u were going to tune for higher than 1bar of boost surely u need better conrod and piston as well.....

its just more parts readily available on the shelf compared to campro engine...(not really)...campro still shares some similiarly designed mitsubishi engine part rite?? :adore: correct me if i'm wrong

I love my neo still but I would most like swap out the engine and get a Toyota or Mitsubishi engine instead. At least I will be able to get aftermarket parts this way.

Whats worst is there are no approved aftermarket exhausts in Singapore as well. I can't upgrade my exhaust at all :(

erm.......i hear got brand ROSS in market now price is not so costly....will check with my supplier for the ROSS Piston How much there sell.

This is exactly why no proton will ever be highly modded.

Nobody wants to bother with it, any car will be expensive to mod the more you push it ... i'd like to see though with custom pistons and a giant turbo, how much can you crank out of a Campro?

Campro cars can be modded with the appropriate management schemes. There are experts providing services to accommodate such mods. There are guidelines. Campro engines have been bolted on with turbo for some time.. the trick is employing the right management which yields a pleasant driving experience and a truly exhilarating one as well!!!

Last time i heard there was a guy working in SG using a forged internals for his BOT neo.
Not sure whether its true la.
By the way, i thought MatSpeed are selling forged cranks & conrods for campro engine?

GT auto in sunway does sell Ross branded forged pistons(RM2600) and err...unknown brand forged conrods(RM1600). Just need to find someone who does forged crank pulley though. Damn! ANy help?

Hmm, maybe you can get the new Campro CFE piston & con rods from Proton?

from cfe engine spec. i suspect the bottom part and internal not same as the old campro....

because they got oil squirter for piston,2mm shorter stroke crank, perhaps "transferrable" part is only forged conrod and forged piston.... :adore: but since the part still new....maybe it would cost a big fortune so might be better straight buy aftermarket part... :adore: (*just my 0000000000000000000001 cent view)

The overall piston height was lowered by 2mm so i expect the compression is lowered and that's why the boost is a low pressured boost at 0.75 which probably means the metal used is still pretty stock. If It's forged, 1 bar above wouldn't be a problem in terms of reliability. Still the more turbos proton makes the better it is for aftermarket parts.

For Campro CFE, conrod is forged. Manufactured by very well known company.
Crankshaft also forged.

Not so bro... I kind of missed my wira last time for the mass availability of aftermarket parts. I think depends on what. Campro engine parts maybe scarce, but body, suspension, chassis stuff are seriously abundant and cheap. Now use toyota a bit headache.

I wonder if we could buy the conrods and crank from Proton. Then just get forged pistons ourselves?

I don't mind a slightly smaller CC engine but its cheaper than having to buy custom billet crank and custom rods.

After that, blast it up to 1.5 bar and watch the car fly!!
