engine conversion opinion wanted
guys, apreciate your comment should i or should i not to transplant this engine based on the spec below:

current ride : kelisa
cc 1000
spec : 55 bhp
max output 40.5KW / 5200rpm
Max.torque 88.3 Nm / 3600rpm

to

daihatsu engine L700
cc 660T
spec : 64 bhp
Max. output:(47 kW) @ 6400 rpm
Max. torque:107.0 Nm @ 3600 rpm

1. i was thinking whether is it worth me to convert from 1000cc to 660T?
some say that L700 pick up is more but top speed die ..im not sure how to read this technical data

2. effect in terms of fuel consumption and others..
some says that fc tend to suffer as it is a downgrade from 1000 to 660

3. is there is a big gap in terms of hp gain from 55 to 64 hp or just nothing significant ?

plse help
tan kiu

FC wise...if u boost,it'll take up more FC for sure..

i still remember L7 having a speedcut at around 140km/h

Hye Hani, Hye brothers.. Regarding your FAQ's, hehee:

1) It's better frm KELISA 1000 to DAIHATSU L7 660T cuore in terms of
performance + fuel cons (dpending on ur foot & left hand) BUT ALSO will damn
you in terms of money(not for rich one lah) + tech sys + re-registration.

SECTION A: Performance + FC
- Do not judge on engine S.P but look on HP. Even Kelisa 1000cc but it's
N/A maa..That L7 is TURBO, in other words 'force induction'. I give an
example. I did not know anything 'bout TURBO prior to tiz til i involved wit
turbo guys. Then, one of my car (Kancil 850) converted to L200T. I cvrted the
engine by myself and start frm that i keep on learning 'bout turbo system.
My Kancil is 660T and some modification on HP i did wit my mechanic. That is
correct a speed cut somewhere 150km/h. But remove the speed cut (DO NOT
REMOVE RPM cut due to safety). After that mod,tiz mod,and mod again my car
can reach 195-200km/h BASED on satria GTI parallel speeding. Performance
definitely will related to FUEL CONSUMPTION. More air suck into combustor-
more fuel will inject by thr.body-more speed u get.

My Kancil 660T wit rm45-50 of fuel can bring me up to 500km an under 110-
120km/h, average speed. BUT, can COST me RM10 within 15KM if i maintain
180km/h and above!! I love Daihatsu..

The above matter we talk on Standard Turbo. But, if u upgrade to big turbo +
big intercooler/ front mount intercooler + bigger t.body + stronger fuel pump
help by fuel regulator...intake manifold or block port and polish kaa, fuel cost
can kill you. One more, Daihatsu items/parts are very expensive in our market
due to certain items compare to big group of buyers. Do not assume K-car will
cost you small amount of money. It's crazy expensive.
IT'S ALL YOURS..

I need to go now, some work to do. Will continue on section B and ur quest
for number 2 and 3 as well..2gether-gether help our malaysian.

Yes..it has a big gap. The turbo fixed on the engine will boost ur engine once it's energise. The amount of power output given by the turbine is controlled by waste gate. I can guarantee u lah, u will face a diff compare to our perodua engine as long as ur L7 in satis cond lah..When talk about pick up(pick is acceleration, which is velocity divided by time), certain N/A can 'tapau' turbo but normally of course lah, turbo will 'tapau' N/A. U can maintain ur original pick up and also can upgrade ur pick up as well, but need to do some work on ur flywheel, camshaft, turbine type, and etc..u choose it, to maintain original pick up or to get more pick up. As conclusion, l7 660TURBO of course will give u more pick up compare to Kelisa 1000cc N/A.

all i can say, NA and turbo totally different in terms of power delivery...
TUrbo has a steeper power band curves ....
in other words, TURBO power comes faster...hence, better pickups...

For a 3K++ investment. L7 is good enuf... spare parts are similar to EJ-DE engine..
registration wise...not a problem...will only cost u rm40 if u have time to do it urself..half day can complete one...

b4 u change the engine can u please call me i need your car engine & all otehr item attached to it t o put in to my old charade. i ll take it if your price is reasonable. tq go daihatsu
