EJ SOHC VTEC speed cut??

Was rushing to an appointment few days back and was really whacking the accelerator. Was going about 150kmh and reached to almost 160kmh and suddently the car stopped accelerating and the needle stood still at 160kmh while the revs kept jumping back to 4000RPM everytime i rev it up to 5000+ RPM. I had my foot planted to the accelerator and it still won't budge while the rev kept rising and dropping. So i just gave up and continued at that speed till i reached shortly.

Question is, does the local EJ SOHC VTEC have any speed/rev limiter built in? Quite surprise coz its actually my first time driving that fast even though i used this car for about 16 months already.

However, the speed built up from 110kmh to 160kmh is quite fast actually when the VTEC kicks in. It stops when the needle touches 160kmh. Weird?!

Anyone got any ideas?

local sohc vtec dun have any speed cut.

tested on my previous ej7 sohc vtec. went well over 190kph and climbing :)

i m oso havin the same scenario like bro prodigy ride where the needle maximum on 160kmh. But i can feel that it can go a bit faster unfortunately it stop excatly at 160km. Any sifu here can advised how to go beyond that level? tq
