Hi all,

My friend got an EG model but come with carburetor engine...
Can he install an EG9 engine DOHC VTEC without changing the mountings and etc etc...
He wants a complete Plug n Play engine for his car, can any sifoo help?
Thanks!

:D

Yes, Plug & Play. Mine is previously EG 1.5 sohc carb and now changed to EG6 engine. No need to change anything, just plug & play.

Wow…

Thanks dude for the reply…

This info is really important for my friend to make his decision…

Thanks!

Anyway, how much did you pay for your EG6 conversion?

Any idea EG9 vs EG6, which one more powerful? Any difference between this 2 engines?

How much is the full conversion to EG9? Full half cut cost…

Thanks!
:D

Got some people said that EG6 is more powderful (maybe due to weight factor)...

Last time I paid:
RM6k for the half-cut.
RM1.5k for the installation + timing belt + air-cond.
RM50 for PUSPAKOM Inspections

However the price for half-cut Manual can be around RM5.5k to 6.5k depend on the condition or with/ without LSD.

Installation also can be around RM900 to 1.8k depend on the workshop/ chopshop.

Not all B16a have LSD. Its optional to have it ...

Thanks to all sifoos and masters…

Anyway, the change of mountings means just change the rubbers mountings stuffs right?

No need to cut the mounting point and reweld to chassis right??

Thanks sifoos, masters, tailous, bosses…

The mechanic told my friend all EG got LSD…

How to differentiate?

;)

Yup, not all. There should be a stamp LSD on the gearbox housing. Last month my friend bought the EG9 Manual Half-cut. The chop shop towkeh quoted him RM5.5k for the Non-LSD half-cut and 6.5k for half-cut with LSD gearbox.

Yup, no need to cut anything in your chassis. A few mountings from B16a should be bigger than your local mounting. However what they usually do is just use the mounting from B16a Half-cut. You can just plug and play into existing mounting brackets in your chassis.
