hi defcon1, u must intro me to ah lee's place...wana do some adjustments to my koni sus

No prob. Next Saturday perhaps. He's in the USJ 19 commercial centre...just next door to Taipan.

by the way, has anyone done soundproof to the cefiro. i found that tire noisy abit

Sound proofing a feilo to get rid of tyre noise? It would probably be cheaper to change the tyres...

But, if you are attached to your tyres, then you can buy soundproofing sheets made of bitumin-like material...no need to buy the really expensive stuff since it's the same material...and line the floorboards, under the carpets...

pckk..bought it for rm1100...installation rm40 @ lee in usj9...

change all the lower arm bushes n it felt like new car...sound fron the front undercarriage has been reduced significantly....

defcon...next week must try ur car again..but i must say, my wife is likin the ride quality now...

chris its right...get better tyres like Yoko DB or Michelin Energy. our car actually has some factory sound proofing but its not much. i had installed (DIY) some Rammaat for my front doors as my front components r producing a lot of bass...its works very well...Rammaat its almost on par with Dynamat Extreme but cheaper. someone is selling rm600/roll for rammaat (15"x50') on the forum...

Yes...very important to keep the wife happy.

Always remember that in our households, WE are the GENERALS and THEY are the MAJORS!

As such, WE make the GENERAL decisions and THEY make the MAJOR ones...

Hmmm...thinking of doing a job on the feilo. How much does 15" x 50' cover? Should be able to do all the doors...would it cover floorboards too?

Actually, rm600 for bitumin is still bloody expensive considering the material. I'll have to do some research, but I think the same material may be used in manufacturing somewhere and could possibly be cheaper.

Basically, to cut out external noise, what is needed is to dampen the vibrations going through the chasis and metal panels of the car. So, key points would be doors, floorboards and firewall. Floorboards would include the boot.

Gonna check out the guy selling the stuff on the forums and see.

chris...a roll of Rammaat covers 62.5 sq feet...should be enough for the the floor plan...but if u need to cover the doors as well...might not be enough...

as for bitumin...i think there is several grade. since our country is bloody hot, which causing the car to be like a oven, its important to get those can stand the heats...i have friend who bought cheaper bitumen for sound proofing...u know what..it melts after 3 months n started to drip!!! imagine cleaning the mess!!!

heh...better than mine...dropped off after a month and made noise instead inside the car door...

thats why we need a better quality bitumen like Raamaat or Dynamat Extreme...

oh okie..seems like it no point to make it quieter. I had all four tyres on Michelin energy XM-1. Noises reduced but still not good enough..hhehehhe..

But why you need it? What is your current spring?

I recently bought a 2nd hand 3.0 year 2000. The previous owner upgraded to HWL adjustable with top pillow ball n the ride is too stiff for me.
so, thinking to change back stock at this moment hunting for others suspension lo... Prefer u'll can sell together with the stock top base. Cheap2 price la..

You see, Ong...NOBODY has an ass as hard as yours...

But seriously, don't waste your money. The stock set of shocks will cost you about rm 1k. Springs you probably could buy cheap, and the pillow ball mounts will cost about rm 80 per piece.

My strong suggestion...get the springs, buy new pillow ball mounts, and get a set of Konis. My friend in Sg has this setup, and the ride is firm but very, very comfortable. Also, buy the Konis in Sg, or get a friend to get them for you. They are much cheaper than here in Malaysia.
