BT with E-manage

So all of thinks that BT manual is not a fuel drinker...cos im serious considering it and a vtec just for the sake of which one is more responsive on fuel management.

anyways BT 5spd or 6spd..any diff on FC?

but 25-30sen/km is really high..even though its a performance engine but got to remember its 1.6..not some 2.0 turbochraged.

If you are not a keen driver/shifter don't go for 6 speed la.. It's close ratio. Of course in terms or FC and performance, the 6 speed is better. Because it makes better use of the powerband. But the 6 speed gearbox lantai in my area seels for around rm2k while the 5 speed only rm700. So if yo are not a keen shifter, better don't go for it. If not you pay extra money for extra work and you will think that it tortures you. But for me, I really dream for that la :love:.

Also, if you aim to mod especially turbo in the future, stick with 5 speed. Some say 6 speed is more fragile than 5 speed. No first hand experience on this though.

anyways..anyone in KL..what is the current price for a touring wagon BT 6spd halfcut and labour charges?

has anyone of u done full stripping and rebuilt the car?..what is the estimated cost?

Yes, i ve done mine...i m driving a JDM AE111 corolla GT..i modded a 5 speed manual from auto...i did mine around rm3.5k...basically this is some of the part i ve purchase.

1. Top overhaul kit OEM(all the seal is available)
2. Piston ring OEM - Original toyota
3. Conrod Ring (Dunno wat part - my mech bought without inform me)
4. Aisin water pump
5. New Timing belt OEM

My mech charge around rm900 for worksmanship. Most of the parts u can get at toyota sparepart dealer, if ya worried about getting con 1. Just go to UMW toyota spareparts, sure guarantee original. Maybe price will be a pricey

i see.the guy is selling a 95 SEG BT 5spd auto.for rm26k..is it worth the price?..i will be 3rd owner if i get it.

is it more cost effective to get a stock SEG and do the conversion?any suggestions for half cuts and mechanic to do the conversion guys?

in klang valley the price for 6spd gearbox is rm2k.. i've ask around.. 5spd around rm700-rm800..

for halfcut carib wagon 6spd is rm5500.. labour rm1500.. plus replacing wear&tear parts rm600..

total should be around rm7600..

I've always wanted a 20V transplant. But budget constraint. I am thinking of engine lantai. What do you think? Any experience in this? Mostly reliable or not? Can it work? And are the condition of engine lantai worse than halfcut? Are there any cases where people buy engine lantai and then cannot work?

engine lantai can be cheaper, or maybe not. Problem with enjin lantai is that, u can't even test start the engine as most of the components are not even there. Other major probs are the wiring, cooling system, etc. they may be out of design if u plug from here and there. With a halfcut, all those worries are not a concern.

1. EE101 - the best for this is 4E engine from Starlet.. they have NA & Turbo..

2. AE101 - 4AGE 20v.. black or silvertop.. also got AE101 supercharger.. bzr,gt or wagon.. anything can go in with no major prob..

i recommend those engine because it's plug & play.. no need mods on engine mounting..

if u dont mind about pnp, get a 3SGE or 3SGTE.. 2.0L.. extremely powerful.. hehe

for 4AFE to 4AGE, i recommend get a halfcut.. because the wiring are different.. computer box diff.. & a lot of small & little things diff.. if u buy seperately, the total will be more than a halfcut..

people usually buy engine lantai if they got the same engine inside their car

i think the mounting is the same 4A-FE & 4A-GE.. i think..

i'm not a mechanic.. so, u need to check with ur mechanic..

spare parts? i've been using 20v for a long time & i notice that only certain workshop have the spare parts..

actually, every workshop can find the spareparts.. the only thing is $$$$$..

Mun Lee is quite expensive. If you have time go to Kapar, Shah Alam or Klang area, you can get good deals there

Blacktop is the same engine with Silvertop.. juz a tiny lil different.. coz Toyota tune it to be more powerful..

spare part no problem.. u need to identify the wshop/parts dealer that sells it in ur area..

ron95 can use.. no prob..

if want power, put in ron97 like always :biggrin:
 
Can get brand new spare parts for BT?..not performance..but the basics..like clutch..timing belt..bushing and etc?
