stock airtrek bonnet weights like a freaking tonne.. by chopping it lighter wont be needed to much reinforcement frame..

It's important to keep the bonnet rigid and safe... at high speed, it will become flimsy and bend off by the wind... and yes, it's freaking heavy for sure..

Because the frame have been cut that is why mentioned need to strengthen back.....

you cant cut a sheet metal with an sharp corner edge.
thats the weakest point of a stress and crack hairline strucure ( steel molecule )

Thanks about the warning but its all in hand i dont take short cuts on this project :driver:
but advice about potential problems is always welcome

This is what it is going to look like just a mock up at the moment then got to do fiberglass and then blend and flip it over and do the underneath which is just as important :smokin:

Forget that, just replace with plexiglass and make it see through! FUH!! Hahaha

not bad looking.. but I think the vents are a bit too muich to the middle. I think Evo's are a bit to the front which is on top of the manifold and DOHC wording level on the engine cover...

This is the car we used to mock up the bonnet vent dont forget the airtrek has a longer bonnet and my vent is where it needs to be to let as much heat out as possible :driver:

seeing how the frame has been cut which reduces rigidity, id highly recommend getting bonnet pins as well.

Looks good so far though!
