To those of u who have converted to the above, just wanna know to what Gb and drive shaft u guys use. The ori BMWs, the Nissan or others (pls specify).

TQ

Zidane,

my mate just converted his, Using Redtop SR20 and SR Gearbox,
driveshaft have send it to machine shop to alter,
basically for the front end towards the gearbox will be using SR20's shaft,
and the rear towards the axle will be using your BMW's shaft.

Whoa... sounds masive to me man...

Why not keep it original? Keep the value of the continental.

heard of this conversion be4....thought it was a one-off....izzit popular? y the sr20det? does it work on all (e30,e36, e46) of the 3 series? or only specific ones?

Currently from what i hear and ask is that nissan engines are aplenty, cheap to maintain, tons of performance parts and powerful. 2nd choice is the toyota.

And since BMW E30 are rear wheel drive, this makes it easier to match the engine to the car since BMs are also RWD.

You can have SR20DET, RB20DET in 5 and 3 series. They usually convert the older models 1990s and before.

But i am still in the process of learning how and what they use. My favourite part currently is the driveshaft and gb. you can put whatever engine in a car but GB and d/shaft is very important. If it's not strong enuff, then gonna be very costly.

Keepting it original? If i get one of the newer ones i'll keep it original.

But an E30, i like to play2 with them.

However, planning to settle down so no more playing with car.

Probably get a stock auto mpv.

Sniff. Sniff. I shud have been a mech.
