Bugatti might have enjoyed its stay as the fastest production car for a couple of years, but challengers will always be giving a go to grab the crown from the Veyron. And one that is brave enough to challenge Bugatti and came home with a result is Hennessey with their Lotus Exige-based Venom.
While Hennessey might have retained much the Exige’s original look, do not expect that this car is still the nimble road go-kart that it is known to be for. With a verified top speed of 435.31km/h set a year ago, the Venom also hosts a number of staggering numbers like its zerotohundred time of 2.7 seconds, 0-161km/h in 5.6 seconds and a 0-322km/h in 14.51 seconds.
With a massive twin-turbocharged 7.0-liter V8 engine pushing out 1,244bhp and 1,155 lb-ft of torque, the Venom is about to get another astonishing figure under its name as Hennessey announces the price tag of this elongated Lotus. To own this speed demon, you would have to fork out USD 1.4 million which is basically RM 5.03 million in our currency.
Quite a hefty price tag for a stretched Lotus, but the Venom has the figures to back up its price. And that got us wondering, if you ever had RM 5 million lying around, would you go for the Venom or the Agera S Naza Swedish is bringing in?
