Soon to replace the mighty SLS AMG GT3, Mercedes-Benz had earlier shown us the sketching of what seems to be a race car version of their new AMG GT. The design sketch might have given us a pretty good idea of how the car will look like, but the latest image shared by Mercedes reveals how beautiful this new race car will look like in flesh.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car will be making its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show commencing next month. Typical of all GT3 cars, this race version of the AMG GT looks far more aggressive, thanks to its floor-scraping ride height and the mean aerokit added to stick it onto the track.

As for now, only the front end is shared by Mercedes. It shows the AMG GT3 receiving the race car treatment of a front splitter, winglets, and also air outlets carved in the fenders above the front wheels. Also seen in this image is the large rear wing peeking from the back.

As for the time being, Mercedes has yet to share any specific details on the performance of the AMG GT3, but we would expect that the output of the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine will be tuned up and paired to a racing transmission. This new race car will be making its track debut at the 2016 FIA GT3 Championship.
