2015 Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific concludes at Sepang with two races in Round 6!

Spicing up the Malaysia Championship Series weekend, the horses from the 2015 Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific also made an appearance at Sepang International Circuit for their Round 6. This sixth round is also the final leg of the Asia Pacific before all top drivers from Asia Pacific, Europe and North America converge to Mugello, Italy for the Ferrari Finali Mondiali 2015.

With two races in store for the driver throughout the weekend, the field of 19 drivers were ready to give their all to emerge victorious on this 5.543km F1 circuit. In Race 1, the Trofeo Pirelli class was dominated by Steve Wyatt who had led the race from the start to the chequered flag, allowing him to get close to championship leader Renaldi Hutasoit who finished second. Coming in third position was David Tjiptobiantoro.

The Trofeo Pirelli AM class saw Swedish driver Alexander West taking the win followed by Stefano Montesi in second place and Pirelli AM championship leader Xu Wei in third.

Down in the Coppa Shell classification, Yanbin Xin from China emerged victorious with an amazing four wins in a row. Second place was snatched by Japanese driver Ken Seto and Huilin Han of china took third.

The action continues on Sunday where the circuit was still hot as ever, with the added haze to add bump the challenge up. Wyatt showed no signs of stopping as earning a pole start from yesterday’s win, he once again translates that into another victory in Race 2. Beating Indonesian Renaldi Hutasoit by 11.308 seconds, he now leads the standings with 213 points. David Tjiptobiantoro once again finishes the race in third.

Things were not so different in the Trofeo Pirelli AM where Alexander West once again takes the win. But the battle for second place was a tight one with only 2.917 seconds separates Wei Xu with Jung Hoon Youn from Korea in third place.

Huilin Han who finished third yesterday now has a reason to smile as he finished in first place in the Coppa Shell Race 2. It was a close fight to the top spot as second place Yanbin Xin was only 0.662 seconds behind him. Taking third place was Bo Song, also from China.
