Caterham introduces the new Seven Kamui Kobayashi Limited Edition for Japan Market

Teaming up with F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi, Caterham had recently come out with a special edition of their Seven. Dubbed as the Seven Kamui Kobayashi Edition, only 10 of such units will be made and all of them will only be available in Japan.

Based on the Seven 250 R, this single seater model in powered by a 1.6-liter Ford Sigma engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a limited slip differential. With 125-horsepower in its disposal, zerotohundred is dealt in just 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 196km/h.

The exterior of this limited release model is finished in a high-gloss black paint with matte black sport stripes on the body. The front and rear wing protectors are finished in carbon fiber infused with a unique deep green lacquer.

As a touch of exclusivity, the carbon fiber dashboard is signed by Kamui and the seat is constructed from the same lightweight material with contrasting stitching, a Kamui logo in the headrest and a green Takata 4-point harness.

“For me, the Caterham Seven is a pure car; when you drive the Seven it feels like you are driving, not like the car is driving you. In my Caterham F1 car, I have electronics that control everything but to drive the Seven is to truly understand the car and to truly understand the enjoyment of driving. I hope my styling of the Seven adds something special to a car that is already awesome to drive,” said the Japanese Caterham F1 driver.
