Chevrolet Cruze (2013) – Same Price More Goodies (RM103,888)

The C-segment Chevrolet Cruze will be getting itself a new makeover come 2013, that’s promising a host of upgrades to help sharpen-up its looks and provide for more features in order to help heighten the Cruze’s appeal.

The Cruze for 2013 has been line-up with a number of aesthetic upgrades, beginning with a new front fascia design that includes a redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes, a set of revised fog lamps, a ground-effects kit for the under-body to help improve under-body air-flow, a redesigned rear bumper and a new set of 16” alloy rims.

Within the cabin, the Cruze will be have a Bluetooth connectivity and a USB connection port located within the central compartment that’ll help play all your preferred MP3 tunes via your thumb drive or (we suspect) via your iPhone/iPod.

The 2013 Cruze will have the ECOTEC Gen3 1.8L, 4-cylinder, petrol engine that will come alive via a Push-start button and the engine will have DCVCP (Double Continuous Variable Cam Phasing) and VIS (Variable Intake System) – basically combining DOHC with variable valve timing and valve-lift, to help the engine achieve its rated 140bhp at 6,200rpm and 176Nm of torque at 3,800rpm. A 6-speed A/T is mated to the engine.

Chevrolet is also boasting of its exceptional ride and handling thanks to their Body Frame Integral (BFI) high strength steel chassis – another way of saying that they’re using high-tensile steel. The interior will also be undergoing a slight change with the use of leather-fabric combination to help add a touch of sophistication.

Active safety comes in the form of dual front airbags, while passive safety gets an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as well as an ABS system that works with both front and aft disc-brakes.

However, even though the Cruze will be coming to us looking and feeling a tad different, the only thing that hasn’t changed is its price – remaining at a Nett selling price of RM103,888, including a three-year warranty or 100,000km (whichever comes first) and a 24hr Chevy Assist programme that’s available nationwide.

there were a few reasons i didn't buy this car few years ago. the main reason was, this car has absolutely no power despite the muscle car look which i really like. The same issue remains, heavy car, no power.
