After much anticipation, Alfa Romeo is finally ready to share their all-new Giulia with the rest of the world. The example shown here is the flagship Quadrifoglio model and bears the four-leaf clover badge designated for high-performance Alfa Romeos for more than 90 years. Alfa Romeo had also been kind enough to share with us some of the juicy details of their new sports sedan.
With a Ferrari-derived V6 engine residing underneath the hood, the Giulia is blessed with 510-horsepower to play around with. Through extensive use of parts like carbon fiber, aluminium, and plastic, the Giulia’s power-to-weight ratio is lower than 3kg per horsepower, allowing it to do a zerotohundred in just 3.9 seconds.
There is no definite word on the car’s transmission, but word is being passed around saying a six-speed manual will be available. Born with a 50/50 weight distribution, the Giulia will also be featuring new tech like torque factoring and active aerodynamics. And as for the engine response, drivers will be able to select the four different modes offered – Dynamic, Neutral, Advanced Efficient and Racing – from the steering wheel.
As for the looks, the Giulia features an aggressive front fascia with mesh grille inserts and an Active Aero Splitter which “actively manages downforce for higher performance and better grip even at high speed.” The front is further highlighted by the slender headlights, ventilated hood and front fender vents. The Giulia is fitted with aerodynamic side skirts, a trunk-mounted spoiler, a rear diffuser and a quad tailpipe exhaust system.
