Featuring a redesigned exterior coupled with the luxurious interior refinements, Volvo Cars Malaysia today officially unveils the new XC60 to the media at their Glenmarie showroom today. But the new looks are not the only updates offered on the XC60 as it is also the first to receive the Drive-E Powertrain – a modular engine platform which will complement future Volvos built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA).

“The trend moves closer towards cars that are both functional and luxurious. The new XC60 was designed to not only meet those demands, but also provide a more cost-efficient option in the market. This is in-line with our goal of making luxury affordable and accessible to customers,” said the Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia, Keith Schafer.

Powering the XC60 T5 is a four-cylinder Drive-E engine that churns out 245-horsepower at 5,500rpm and a maximum torque figure of 350Nm at 1,500-4,800rpm. The engine might produce a higher output than its predecessors, but Volvo continues to amaze with their class-leading fuel consumption figures for petrol engines in the segment and improved CO2 emissions at a 157g/km.
