The 2014 Malaysia Super Series Round 1 – Tommy Lee takes the Top Spot for Group B’s Race 2!

With the pace set on Race 1, the 33 drivers competing in the Group B of the 2014 MSS Round 1 can now open the taps as the skies were clear and the circuit being in its preferred condition compared to the previous day. For Race 2, pole-sitter Fitra Eri in the Team Sakura-Tedco Racing’s No.19 Proton Satria Neo led the race for a few moments before being passed by the faster cars in the Touring Production class.

Showing his worth, Tommy Lee in the No.55 Honda DC5 quickly took the lead with Tony Teo in the No.21 Honda DC5 once again trailing closely behind. Joining them in the front of the pack were Lee Wai Chong in the No.81 Toyota Altis and Kenny Lee in the No.86 Toyota 86.

With a mechanical failure plaguing Team 9tro-LTM’s No.38 Honda DC5, they were forced to retire when a mishap dislodged their front right wheel at the later part of the race.

Syafiq Ali in the No.12 Proton R3 Suprima S showed great potential in Race 1 and was set to show its worth in Race 2, but unfortunately they also had to retire from the race due to an unforeseen mechanical trouble.

As the race came closer to the 20-minute mark, the race leaders had spread the gap considerably with Tommy Lee still leading the pack. The race was brought to an end at the eighth lap, giving the win to Tommy Lee in the No.55 Honda DC5. Coming in second was Tony Teo in the No.21 Honda DC5, followed by Kenny Lee in the No.86 Toyota 86. Najiy Ayyad crossed the finish line in fourth, but was demoted where he allegedly jump started the race before crossing the starting line.
