Lamborghini’s new Huracan GT3 takes the track for the first time at Vallelunga!

Soon to take the stage in the GT racing series in 2015, the all new Huracan GT3 made its first track appearance on the “Piero Taruffi” circuit in Vallelunga, Rome. The test was conducted under the supervision of Giorgio Sanna and Lamborghini’s two official Squadra Corse test drivers, Adrian Zaugg and Fabio Babini.

The new Huracan GT3 also marks a new milestone for Lamborghini as it is their first complete in-house production of a GT3 race machine. The car was developed with the help of Dallara Automobili, which is also a partner in the Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo’s development.

From 2015 onwards, the Huracan GT3 will enter races like the Blancpain Endurance Series which is set to take place in five different venues in Europe, including the challenging 24 Hours of Spa. Additional races are also being planned to take place in North America and Asia, starting from 2016.

“I’m pretty much satisfied with this first test of the new Huracan GT3. We still have plenty of work to do to be ready for the upcoming season, but performance and reliability feedback is encouraging. I have no doubt that this car will more than hold its own in international GT3 competitions,” said Giorgio Sanna.
