The looks of the new and upcoming Honda Civic Type-R had left us drooling, even before revealing its true production form. And one could pretty much get the idea how it will look like, especially when Honda decides to spice up the new Civic with some Type R-inspired facelift that certainly gives the car a bit more character.

They started off by giving the car a new sportier bumper that incorporates Daytime-Running Lights (DRL) in the new headlamps. The hatchback also gets a redesigned rear bumper, side skirts, black-finish spoiler bar and LED combination rear lights.

And not to forget, the Sport model as pictured here could also serve as a stepping stone before welcoming the new Type-R which this time will be turbocharged. But before you get pumped up by the ‘Sport’ moniker, we would have to warn you that it is not as sporty as you might think.

They had done a great job making the Civic Sport look good, but under the hood remains untouched as it still come with either 1.8-liter petrol engine with 140bhp or a 1.6-liter diesel unit producing 118bhp. All the new 2015 Civic models will be equipped with Honda’s new Connect Infotainment system that allows synchronization with Android smartphones.
