Gun-related crimes are a norm in South America, but we have yet to see one captured in such dramatic manner; until now. A rider of a Honda CB600F (or known as the Hornet in Brazil) was seen riding his bike in the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil with his helmet-mounted camera running. While he was slowing down at an intersection, he was intercepted by a couple of guys in a red bike, which in all of a sudden the passenger turns around and points a gun straight into his face.
Fearing for his life, the biker immediately slowed down and surrendered both his bike and the keys to the thug who was keeping the barrel of the gun pointed towards the biker’s direction. But what the thugs did not realize was that just a couple of feet from them was an off-duty police officer; turning the side of this bikejacking almost immediately.
Just as the thug was about to get away with his loot, the police officer exited his vehicle and fired two shots towards the criminal, with one striking him in the abdomen. While his accomplice made a speedy getaway, the gunman was left sprawling on the tarmac from the gunshot.
“I lucked out to have a police officer there at the time and well-positioned”, said the unnamed 35-year-old victim.
