Third Time’s the Charm – FXPrimus Aylezo Bags their First Podium Finish at Sepang!

They say that “Third time is the charm”, but is it true? For team FXPrimus Aylezo it is as on the second round of the 2013 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia, they had finally managed to finish the race and as the sweet cherry on top of the cake, even managed to make it on the podium!

But the journey to the top is not an easy one as although there are a traffic of only four cars in front, all of them are not giving up their position easily; which goes the same to the horde of Gallardo Super Trofeos at the back, rushing for a better spot.

Starting the race from fifth position on the grid, Sri Lankan Dilantha Malagamuwa made it clear that the only direction they are going is forward, and that is exactly what they did. The first half of the race was filled with close calls and a fierce fight was happening between them and the car in fourth position.

Even so, team FXPrimus Aylezo managed to squeeze into third and stretched the lead. After a quick driver change, Zen Low took the baton and continued FXPrimus Aylezo’s promising run. Knowing the circuit like the back of his hand, Sepang International Circuit is not going to be a problem for him to display the team’s dominance as he overtook a couple more cars and got all the way to the first place, but that has yet to be the end.

On the last two laps, the tires were literally worn out and Zen had troubles in keeping the car on total control. And just when things seemed too good to be true, the car actually spun out at Turn 9 during the final lap, but Zen managed to recover from this nasty spin and re-joined the race to claim second place.

With the second round taking place on their home turf, this win is like the best gift that they could ever wish for. The crowd was absolutely thrilled with FXPrimus Aylezo’s win and there was an endless stream of congratulatory wishes from rival teams and media personnel alike.

There is in no doubt that the battle is far from over but having suffered a nasty ending back in Shanghai, the team really needed something like this to boost up the spirits. Congratulations go to Dilantha Malagamuwa and Zen Low and the best of luck for tomorrow’s Race 2!

Team FXPrimus Aylezo would like to extend their greatest appreciation to everyone who had helped in making this journey possible, especially FXPrimus, JH Italia, Ecotint, Ninetology, Fuchs Titan, TACTIX and Motorsport Playground.
