Our recent experience on the Honda CR-V was enthralling but we couldn’t help ourselves to not criticise on the fact that it was lacking in power and defeated by hills. The torque deprivation was a little bothersome especially with load. But otherwise, a good all-rounder. Today, Honda Malaysia has release of the new 2.4-litre CR-V – introduced to fulfil market demands following customer feedback for a higher performance variant.
The introduction of this high performance Comfortable Runabout Vehicle is part of Honda’s effort in responding to the good market acceptance of its 2.0L model, which has recorded more than 6,100 units in bookings.Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno said – “With its introduction, we are confident that this model will continuously boost the sales even further and ensure it remains in the top position of the SUV market segment.”
Powered by Honda’s 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine, the All-New CR-V 2.4L generates up to 190 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, and a rated torque of 222Nm at 4,400 rpm. Other than performance tweaks – the 2.4L variant comes with plush leather seats, 8-Ways Power Seat for the driver’s seat, Smart Entry System, Paddle Shift Control, a 6.1″ Touch-Screen Audio and Navigation system with Bluetooth Audio and Hands-Free Telephone System (HFT). At the same time, to give an extra luxury feel, this model comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, High Intensity Density (HID) lights with Auto-levelling.
The CR-V 2.4L is now available in 5 colours of Twilight Blue Metallic, Taffeta White, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl as well as a new colour, Modern Steel Metallic. The Honda CR-V 2.4L is priced at RM169,800.00 (On-the Road with insurance) and is ready for immediate viewing and booking at all Honda showrooms nationwide.
