Peugeot’s 208 T16 Pikes Peak Specs Revealed, Packing a Potent 875HP!

Peugeot’s return to Pikes Peak has caught a lot of attention, especially by putting the nine-time world rally champion Sebastien Loeb behind the wheels of their new machine. But we have yet to know how powerful Peugeot’s new unlimited-class machine will punish the 20-kilometer uphill course, that is, until now.

After unveiling the covers off their stealthy 2013 Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, Peugeot has finally released the much-awaited specs of this hillclimber, and some tantalizing pictures to follow with it. The power for this 208 T16 comes from a mid-mounted bi-turbo V6 engine lifted from a Peugeot 908 racer.

With a weight of only 875kg, the car will have exactly one horsepower to look after every kilogram as the powerplant produces 875-horsepower and sending them to all four wheels. With such an immense power and a feather-like weight, the car jumps from zerotohundred in just 1.8 seconds, reaching 200 in 4.8 all the way to a top speed of 240km/h in 7 seconds.

Coupling this great setup with a talented driver like Loeb, Peugeot is definitely looking forward in conquering the Race to the Clouds. The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is kicking off on June 30.
