Lotus Racing Reveals Exige S V6 Cup and Cup R!

The motorsports arm of Group Lotus Plc, Lotus Racing, has recently revealed two new derivatives of their latest Exige – the V6 Cup and V6 Cup R that’s been built to FIA standards with a roll cage, fire extinguisher and a 6-point harness to go along with that 345bhp supercharged V6.

The undercarriage now gets a set of 2-way adjustable absorbers as standard, while 4-piston callipers all round from AP Racing handles hot braking duties. And to top it all off, the Lotus Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) system will be found within, which includes your choice of Touring, Sport and DPM Off mode for some serious fun un-intruded fun.

On the other hand, the V6 Cup R will be lightened, and how they’ve managed to shave off a little more weight to reach a 1,040kg kerb weight is beyond us, and it will also receive more horses at 366bhp. It’ll still be built to FIA-specs (same as the non-R V6), just without the DPM.

The V6 Cup R will also be getting a lightweight battery, track-spec tow loops and a quick-release engine cover to help with the visual differentiation, but other hidden goodies will come in the form of performance brake pads and a better oil and water cooling systems.

Both models will be make their debut at the 2013 Autosport International Show.
