Known for their luxury refinement and impressive levels of comfort – Lexus Malaysia proudly launches the all new ES250 and ES300h to the Malaysian market. Now in its 6th generation, Malaysia is the first country in this region to offer the all new Lexus ES in right hand drive and is available in 3 different variants, the ES250, the ES250 Luxury and the ES300h – and yes, ‘h’ is short for Hybrid.

The new ES bridges the gap between the sporty Lexus IS, and the Lexus GS executive sedan by offering an immaculately crafted interior, unmatched spaciousness and renowned Lexus comfort. As compared to the IS and GS, the ES focuses more on the experience of owning a Lexus and the comfort it offers. The ES model is the marque’s global best-selling model, carrying 40% of the total sales volume globally, and is set to carry on the remarkable achievement with something the company defines as, “Neo Luxury & Neo Smart”.

According to Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor – “Neo Luxury represents the progressive pursuit of luxury, while Neo Smart expresses advanced environmental and fuel efficient technologies. Combined, it offers luxury indulgence that is one step above from conventional comforts which are appealing to individual preference”

The ES250 is powered by a 4 pot 2.5-litre normally aspirated engine, which produces 181bhp and 235nm of torque. It is then mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission which will spring the 1.6 ton car from Zerotohundred in 9.5 seconds. The claimed top speed is 195km/h. For an added performance, Lexus offers the ES300h which comes with an electric motor that is mated to the same 2.5-litre block. The electric motor adds an extra 21bhp to the combustion engine, boasting a total of 202bhp and 213nm of torque. This system reduces the Zerotohundred time to 8.5 seconds.

Datuk Ismet Suki added in his speech – “The new ES mission is to convey the appeal of the Lexus brands to more customers at the same time attracting new users. With its stunning and functional design that incorporates Lexus trademarks like the spindle grille, daytime running lights and model specific 17-inch wheels, the new ES is sure to shake up the market no only for its stunning design lines, but it is also a technological tour de force, especially for its segment”
