DRAG ATTACK @ TIMETOATTACK ROUND 1 2013

The thought of a quarter-mile duel never fails to get the adrenaline pumping, The sight of an all-supercar battle lining up before the lights is able to raise the heart beat beyond 9000bpm.

The DRAG ATTACK at TIMETOATTACK comprised of a host of Supercars and GTRs. taking place on the main straights of Sepang. These massive V-engined (surprisingly, all of them were, okay the Turbo S is more like a flat-V) supersports cars lined up before the lights – preparing to unleash in excess of 500bhp through the 402m straights against their rival.

Kicking off with the ultimate supercar battle – The Lamborghini Aventador LP900-SV vs Club Neverland’s McLaren MP4-12C. Both, without a doubt, bestowed with serious firepower, more so the Lambo. But despite the eargasmic 6.5-litre V12 in the Aventador, in the eyes of all the spectators, Neverland’s MP4-12C took a whole car length lead.

How about settling the Ferrari 458 vs McLaren MP4-12C debate? The Mac flew past the crowds with a quarter-mile run of just below 11 seconds, leading the 458 by fractions of a second. Proven at DRAG ATTACK.

Another interesting battle was between the enlightened Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and ExoticMods wide-body SL55 AMG based of the Black Series. An absolute crowd puller with the deep rumble from AMG’s V8 and the high pitched scream from the prancing horse. The crowd was rooting for the Ferrari but over 3 runs – the SL55 AMG edged on the quarter mile.

Standing on the start line, we could see that the brute torque monster of the AMG V8 was difficult to launch off the line – though when it finally gets a grip, it reeled in the 360CS and brought it home just before the quarter mile mark.

But there is no doubt that the quarter mile was absolutely conquered by the GTRs. With its 4WD traction and gizmos to compute the perfect launch off the line… These raging japanese godzillas are always a highlight at TIMETOATTACK especially with that unmistakable low rev exhaust burble.

….. the Green monster took a nice lead on this run.

These GTRs were far from stock. Packing over 600bhp from the very-willing 3.8-litre V6.

Run after run in the DRAG ATTACK hour, not knowing time standings from my point of view. Simply judging the number of wins from these cars, I was able to hand pick the two fastest GTR of the day. And finally – the two stood right in front of me on the starting grid… Ready to blast through the quarter mile.

Don’t be fooled by the stock look of the white GTR in this picture above…as theres a sleeping monster ready pounce. Check out the lead between the two!

Word on the pit lanes – the white GTR from ATS Automobile is packing over 700 horses. An absolute thoroughbred – slaying all its prey in the quarter mile.

With the beastly selection of All-Wheel-Drive and Rear-Wheel-Drive Supercars blasting down the Sepang straights.. We Look forward to seeing them battling it up again in Round 2. For now – here are more pictures from the event.
