A dark day for Honda S2000 fans but a bright day for current owners. Honda has confirmed that the S2000’s ten-year production cycle will end this year marking the close of a high-revving chapter. Expect an upsurge in demand for the loved roadster and if you own one now, keep it.
Honda’s rear-wheel-drive roadster has always had more in common with the company’s high performance motorcycles thanks to its 9,000rpm redline and minimal low-end torque but it’s natural ability to tackle the twisties and wreck havoc on track made it a favourite among enthusiasts. Not only were enthusiasts mesmerized by it, the S2000 also enjoyed plenty of aftermarket support, making it a prime platform for tuners local and international.
Over its ten-year run Honda has sold 110,000 S2000s world wide with about 65,000 of those in the US.
