Video: Lewis Hamilton Designs F1 SuperCircuit

supercircuit

Reigning Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton has designed the ultimate fantasy Grand Prix circuit. Although not real, the track features some of Hamilton’s favourite spots, including the toughest corners, chicanes and straights from the tracks he likes the most.

Going anti-clockwise, Hamilton’s race track is designed to be challenging on both driver’s stamina and skill, as well as the car’s technological performance.

“I wanted to create a circuit that would be challenging,” explained Hamilton, “exhilarating and enjoyable, but most of all somewhere you would love to have the chance to drive and provide the definitive test for any driver, in any car.”

The track, developed after a challenge from his F1 team’s partner ExxonMobil, starts off with Istanbul Speed Park’s turn 8 where Hamilton’s Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-23 uses its 750hp-plus to attack the super-fast corner and creates up to 5g for 6 seconds, the longest in F1. The story continues through snippets like Estoril in Magny Cours, 130R at Suzuka and Eau Rouge, Spa-Francorchamps.

No doubt young Lewis is relishing his time at the top of motor racing’s mountain. Who knows, in the future he could design a real racing track. Click on the video to see the track yourself or click here to read more about the MP4-23 Vodafone Mclaren Formula 1 racer and Hamilton’s dream circuit.
