Report: Fernando Alonso To Race For Ferrari in 2011

Fresh new reports have raised linking double World Champion Fernando Alonso to Ferrari in what is purported to be a secret deal between the two Formula One greats. Italian paper La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Alonso has an agreement to switch to Ferrari in 2011 but could do so earlier as an early replacement for 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen if the Finn continues his poor 2008 form.

The report also claims that the agreement between Ferrari and 27-year-old Alonso is quite open, with numerous two-sided exit clauses, but if the contract is fully exercised Alonso could have the Ferrari seat until the end of 2014.

A Ferrari spokesman could only say: “We can only repeat that we have two drivers signed to the end of 2010.”

Alonso’s current Renault contract also runs for two more years. This almost confirms the Spaniard as a Ferrari driver come 2011. One thing is for sure though, if and when Alonso gets into the Ferrari racer, he will definately be aiming to outclass and embarrass  Mclaren and Lewis Hamilton in every single race in the calendar for years. That could turn out to be really interesting.

Alonso tends to blame everyone around him but himself when things don't go his way. I don't feel that he deserves a drive at Ferrari. A team that prides itself very very highly in team work, something which Massa, like Schumi duly appreciated.

I'm not a fan of Alonso but you gotta respect with what he can do in an under-performed car......

Of course.

However i'm more impressed with what the likes of Schumi and Ayrton Senna can do with an underperforming TEAM

F1 will not be abolished in 2011 due to economic. Lest we not forget that F1 is older than many of us here and have seen through many economic cycles over the decades. F1 will may change and adapt but they are here to stay for sure.

Mean time A1GP will continue to grow.

As for Alonso - his attitude will be stop him from being classed as among F1 greats

If Alonso want to make this a denial, this picture only says this. "The toilet in my trailer is busted. I'm only using the toilet for gods sake!!"
