BBC Responds To Tesla’s Top Gear Complaints

There have been reactions, particularly by Tesla themselves, to the wasy the Roadster was reviewed by Clarkson. In one particular scene – the Top Gear crew can be seen pushing one of the Tesla test- cars into the garage when it still had power to run. BBC has released a statement admitting that Clarkson’s test car still had power left – but why the deception?

Top Gear claimed it ran out of battery but in actual fact there still was power left and the scene was filmed to show what would happen if the battery had actually been depleted (!!). But anyway, “Top Gear stands by the findings in this film and is content that it offers a fair representation of the Tesla’s performance on the day it was tested.”

Makes you wonder doesn’t it? Will future Top Gear episode’s end with the crew pushing back the test car to show what will happen if you ran out of fuel?

tesla's should face the fact that the tesla wont have enough juice to keep it running far and there arent many plugs by the highways. besides, we've seen a lot of cars used up its fuel at the top gear test track. it wasnt a big deal.

The video showed the car was pushed back in. But they had a spare car while the car that was out of juice takes 16 hours to be fully charge. But still its faster than a elise off the line in a drag race. Which is also proven in USA electric drag cars.

Thats because its down to the nature of the electric motor.
Petrol or diesel motors slowly build up their torque till a certain RPM, some
1k rpm (diesels and supercharged mercs) to 4k rpm (normal cars) to 6k rpm (vtecs and ferraris). So that is why some cars take a while to get up to speed.

Electric motors peak torque starts at 0rpm. Basically, when u release the electric motor, you get the whole shebang of torque right there. Thus its not surprising that no matter how insane your petrol engine is, it can't hold a candle to the torque output of an electric motor.

Oil is the most relied on asset at present and Oil prices has gone up to a stage of insanity. With fears of people abandoning oil, to search of other alternative to fuel their ride. Could this be a case of sabotage by complex bribery from the richest?

For all you know soon someone in Tesla might died of some unknown reasons. Fatal accident maybe, but definately a planned one.
