thought neos are n/a?
cos i was thinking of a 34 but its neo and triptronic...

yes, NEO is N/A type...
you can change it to manual by converting to RB26DETT manual or RB25DET manual(R34 GTT engine)..

It's hard enough to find a ER34 but would it be harder to find a manual version of it instead of the tiptronic??

kinda hard but, you can still find it if you really interested.. like what rott did.. :D

Yeah. I noticed that there are quite a lot of Skylines for sale recently (both GTR and GTT). For your info, there is this dealer (SG) that is selling an unreg R34 GTT (two door) for 175K (as advertised in Motortrader before negotiation). Actually I can forsee the price to further drop to 150k level if willing to wait for another 2 months... :)

NEO isnt N/A

NEO is the R34 version of the RB25DET which comes with 280bhp instead of the 250bhp from the RB25DET in the R33 series

rott,
if the R34GTT is auto then get a manual R33 GTR
Auto not worth the money la, and so far I haven't heard of anyone sucessfully converting tiptronic r34 into manual yet.

also depends on what you want to do with the car
daily drive occasional track and drift day, r34GTT is good
serious power, track use and drag purposes get the 33GTR

I think your hicas got problem, i believe what you seeing is your hicas light?

Jebu,

Actually the car will be a daily transport for me (couldn't afford a weekend car yet). That is why I am still thinking over this thing. Would it be too much hassle to drive a manual R33 GTR in KL's daily traffic conditions?

Even though R34 GTT is a newer model, I cant get over the fact that is it not THE real thing - GT with a red R. I am afraid most of the R33 GTRs in the market have been thrash around before and the condition is of suspect. Heard enough stories of 2nd buyers of GTRs blowing up their cars after short while. The repairs can be costly. Any chance you can recommend a well taken care of R33 GTR? :)

hi guys...from my source Nissan NEO RBxxx series engines got N/A or turbo. NEO=cleaner/green engine compare to previous generation of RB engines without NEO. Something like honda's LEV ??

That could very well be the reason for getting the 33GTR. It's the real deal.

That could also be the reason for getting the 34 GTT too.

Well it all boils down to yourself, do you like the 34 more or the 33. Are you going to mod it? Do you want the real thing or something similar. Some ppl can settle for GTT and some only want the real thing. Diff ppl diff taste. the GTT is more practical I believe. the 33 GTR is more for weekend car.

Get the er34 if you're going to drive it daily. True, most R33 Gtrs are getting quite old, and repairs ARE expensive. Happened to me and the new owner as well.
If you still want a GTR, get a stock-standard-never-modified one but won't be easy to find. R34 Gtrs are still damn expensive, IMHO, not worth it yet, maybe later on.

Its your ATTESSA ....try to think back if you had installed anything prior to the problem. The ATTESSA reads off a number of things ...rev..g force sensors ..even your ABS sensors.. So its hard to tell..unless a wire has been tapped or a dry soilder had occur would be the most probable cause...

I realise it is next to impossible to find an unmolested R33 GTR in KL. Probably would go for the ER 34 then.

bnr_32.. might seem like a stupid question but are u running same size and profile tyres all around? this could affect the ATTESA as well

the size and profile is not the problem.. just that you need same all round.. since you do then we've eliminated one possibility.. good luck with it :)
