Hey guy,

Im not very sure about disk brakes but im also looking for disk brakes for my sunny. Rite now my brakes sucks big time. What would u guys surgest. I thought of getting the ventelated disk brakes which raja mongkut has just installed. But which 1 is better? Pls let me know.


Nsboy how much r the dick brakes coz i seriously need those brakes lar.


Raja mongkut if u don mind could u pls let me know more about ur dick brakes which u just installed. Where did u get them n for how much? Im sure that i need to change my calipers also so how much did it all cost? Pls let me know coz it is urgent bro.

many factors why ur brake not makan...
brake servo
brake pads
disc/drum brakes

have to see wat kind of problem you're having...

ventilated discs do help but they only shine under certain conditions if compared with normal discs... for example... heavy braking down genting

well actually my vents not installed yet.. i'm just midway thru painting em...

Thankx for the update. Actually i really did not understand wat did u mean by shining under certain conditions. Wat do u reallly mean by tat?

The problem wit my brakes r they r not catching. Most of the time i hav to like drop gear to really slow it down if im speeding. Wat could b the problem.

How much did u get ur ventelated disc brakes for ar n where did u get them. If i wanna look for them wat should i look for.

Raja mongkut really sorry tat i sound so amature man coz im just getting to know more about em.

well... you could ask for 2 types.... sunny diesel discs... or sunny turbo discs... most of these are vents already...

though i'm afraid u gonna get more weird stares than answers at the chop shop.

if u serious about it... i could prolly ask for u at my usual chop shops... the rear discs too.

as for TT... i think its time to organize another one soon already...

i occasionally have a drink with the sunny brothers...... but next time have to organize one on a bigger scale...

Im really really serious about getting my disc brakes. Roughly how much did u pay for yours ar. I thought if getting 4 all the four sides once n for all coz in time to come im goin to change my engine to mayb a GA16 ora CA18 not sure yet. So i thought once n for all just change all my brakes which is the front(disc brakes) n my rear (drum brakes) to disc. What do u tink?

If its not too much of a problme for u could u pls enquire for me at ur chop shop. Where about is ur chop shop? At my place here in Shah Alam these guys here r so lansi n stuck up tat they even told me to throw away my car n go n get a better car.

okay roughly... for my front discs.... RM200(special price from sunnyboy) front calipers RM160

rear disc assembly RM500... plus 200 for refurbishing n custom brake hoses.

hmm ya i know it sounds kinda wierd why normal rear discs would cost more than front vents...

but thats the way it goes... coz rear disc is rare and also more sought after.

refurbish = clean off the rust, undercoat, skim etc.... custom brake hose
