hi Guys,

Recent problem with my EJ6 gear changing pattern.

This happens whenever i'm slowing down to a hump or at a traffic light corner with speed of 20/30kmh. As i accelerate back after the corner or the hump, the gear will drop back to 1st gear / 2nd gear which is normal but it gets stuck at that particular gear until i need to accelerate 4-5K rpm to make it change to the next gear. And if i dont, it just maintain at that gear or i need to release the accelerator and let the rpm drop back to normal then it comes back to normal condition of gear changing pattern.is this normal for other Ejs as well. This is not normal for automatic transmission car.

Has these got anything to do with the gearbox? Pls advice.

As it is still sending car for service at Kah motor., but their not good at takcling this problem.

This really irittates my driving.

Thanks

That's one hell of the notorious problem of EJ AT gearbox. Nothing much you can do about it.

My advise is live with it if you don't have budget to fix it, swap another gearbox if you have moderate budget, or the better way is swap to DOHC if you got all the dough, MT of course.

looks like have to live with it just like that. swapping to another gearbox will not guarantee either whether the problem exists in it or not.
