Hi to all peoples,

I having a pair of 12" woofer, brand name "oxygen audio".

Currently I using 2 unit 2 channel amp to run this woofer, but 1 of it is spoiled, as the car accessory people told me, because it got voice of "air plane" even add a device which is avoid this voice happen it also remain the same.

So I desire to buy a new 4 channel amplifier to run my woofer, and the existing 1 of the good condition 2 channel use it to run for mid bass. But i'm not look for expensive, but which is sufficient to run my woofer then that is pretty enough.

I found one amplifier come with this spec:

MPLIFIER MRV-F705

  • [*]Average Power Output/CH into 4 Ohms, 4 Channels Driven
    [*]@10Hz~40kHz, 0.5% THD 85W X 4 or 170W X 2

    [*]@1kHz, 10% THD 250W X 4 or 500W X 2

    [*]Low Pass Filter (VARIABLE) 40Hz ~ 150kHz

    [*]High Pass Filter (VARIABLE) 80Hz ~ 1.2kHz

[*]Output of Bridged (BTL) Operation into 4 Ohms @ 1kHz, 1% THD 1000Watts
    [*]Frequency Response (-1dB) 10Hz ~ 40kHz

[*]Signal to Noise Ratio ("A" WTD) >100dB

    [*]Input Sensitivity 100mV ~3V

    [*]Input Impedance 22k Ohms

[*]Operation Voltage (Negative Ground) DC 12V

[*]Speaker Impedance @ Stereo Driven 4 Ohms

    [*]Fuse Rating 40A X 1

    [*]Dimension (WxHxD)mm 260X58X320

PLease give me some comment about this spec.
or please give me some suggestion normally wht is the important of the spec we should
concern when buy an amplifier.

If possible, hope some one who is expert, can like to share with us by explaining 1 by 1 what is the usage according the spec listed at above.

Thank You so much for you valueable reply!!
Cheers!

Frend, that not ori Alpine amp laa.. it truely fake amp.. this amp has been discuss very long time ago & not advisable to drive Sub Woofer..

Just my opinion.. try find 2nd unit amp either 2ch or Monoblock c/w >350w rms X 1 stable at 2Ohm.. for long run I will find 2ch amp with alot of power like >750w Rms X 1 4Ohm & drive the Sub at 8Ohm..

also make sure if your 12" sub is DVC or SVC, and the impedance as well.

just to remind you that, most of the amp in the market, 2ch or 4ch, it can be stable to 2ohm bridged....so becareful on this

Thank You for your reply.

But i think 2 channel is insufficient to drive my 1 pair 12" sub woofer, so u still suggest me to buy a new 2 channel amp?

May i know what is:

1) monoblock c/w?

2) stable at 2 ohm/4ohm, what is the different, and what is ohm?

3) >750w Rms X 1 4 Ohm & drive the Sub at 8 Ohm, you mean 2 channel = (750w Rms X 1 4 Ohm) X 2, so total is 8 Ohm?

4) Can you teach us how to see whether the amp is able to drive the sub woofer, any calculation actually?

I'm so appreciate for all friends replied my post.
And thank you so much for your value information, who has the sharing spirit!
Once again thank you!

Dear friend,

May i know what is DVC, SVC, and Impedance?

"2ch or 4ch, it can be stable to 2ohm bridged", do you mind to explain with a little bit details?

Thank You, Thank You!!

to check whther DVC or SVC you will hav to see how many input does the sub has... single is SVC while if there is two then it is DVC... for the impedance, tht one you will hav to check the sub manual or somewhere... sure got stat one...

"it can be stable to 2ohm bridged" means tht when you bridge your amp to power two SVC 4ohm sub then the amp still can work efficiently... but it will run on 2 ohm where you will get twice the 4ohm power... say 300W 4ohm, then it will become 600w 2ohm...

cheers...

Your "broken" 2 channel amp got aeroplane sound ?

Very rare aeroplane sound will affect low freq (Subwoofers).
Most aeroplane sound will affect mids and tweeters.

Is your installer pulling ur leg ?
