It is good if you can find cosworth engine.

btw, you know, i think you should paint ur car midnight purple, then find wire mesh-ish rims and then if u could, find a nissan r32 dashboard and put it in it, u can even claim ur car as a r32 fastback coupe! hahaha

Kev, midnight purple arr....that's a colour that not every car can fit in :rolleyes: and if the r32 dashboard can fit in then i wouldn't mind to add it on but will need to check with my mechs first lor.

WhiteWagon, u r in the same line of thought as mine... if the parts are plentiful and easy to obtain then i would mind to put in all parts from Ford... but thank god that Malaysia mechanics memang BOLEH in everything :wavey:

HKS, thanks man.... yupe i had few of the other sample of the car but what you posted is the Sierra 4x4 model and mine is Sierra XR4i. The front part they look the same though but you can see the back side mirror are definetely different. The biggest diff is my car is a RWD and the other is 4WD

I am not planning to do a cossie as the parts on this model are sacred here so i will utilise the nissan FR car parts to do the conversion into Ford shell and nissan parts car mainly from silvia model

Hey Zero, it is a good car indeed. The shell of the car are unbeatable and so solid so i have no worries on rust at all. :proud: RS500....wow that would be another rare beauty if you still have it If you ask me if i want a cossie engine then i would definetely say no coz it's hard to maintain and that's why i would utilise a more powerful engine as replacement for the ford engine. That way you can maintain and easily find aftermarket upgrade parts for SR20DET when i want to upgrade the power on this car. Hey if you really going to get another brother car as mine make sure you get in touch with me so we can exchange ideas on the build up

Well i have left my car at the workshop before i go holiday and it has been for 4 days in the workshop so i am eager to see what had happened as well as know how the progress on the car so far.

I will try to drop by to the workshop and post some progress pictures here

To be frank i have no idea about the 2.8L original engine but my guess it is a 4 cyclinder engine that produce about 156hp which are very at when it's at it's time.

Heheheh.... i will strictly maintain only 2000cc and below atleast for this moment.
After a few years on this stock engine then i will rebuild to add on bigger turbo and perhaps do a twin turbo project but that is much much later lar.

The engine is out and resprayed.
The mechanics done a good job in cleaning it up and the car bay chasis had not got any single accident so after sand paper polish with good paint on it looks great!!
The petrol hose mounting had been relocated to left hand side for safety purpose. The shop also found that the front wheel had already been coverted to pcd114 so i think ex owner should have done the same for the rear wheel :)
All the old wirings not being used on the bay are slowly being removed and the dashboard is slowly coming out as well to do remove further unused wirings.
The engine condition are in great shape so nothing to do except the power steering is leaking oils so it will be replaced.

Still doing the engine bay polishing and then go for 2nd layer paint.
The area of the ex spoiler have some rust since it's been taken out for long time and it wasn't properly sealed. Need to do some cleaning and polish before the rs cosworth spoiler goes back to the car.

Still looking for the power steering replacement and then do the cleanup on the engine before remounting it back in.

Well finally the stage 1 of the car is complete on the exterior and i will be moving to next stage. Hopefully this time the progress on the work on the other detail work for the car will be more swift ;D
