Rm50 for 250km that means 20 sen per km.
That's not so good compare to what the manufacturer had stated.

Fuel consumption for the Spectra is said to be RM15.36 (RM1.92 per litre) for 100km.
It's only RM0.1536 per km.
That's considered good for a 1.6l.
What FC does those Spectra owners got in ZTH?
rm15.36 for 100km, thats good! Mine spectra no mod, it takes me rm25 for 100km! Like shit! Like rm80 = 340 km only! Wat the F**K! If the FC cost me alot and it give me power,i dun care the high FC. Seriously, spectra suks! Any how, next year after chinese new year will change to Honda Accord 2.4, hoho.

Invoke, if rm25 for 100km only, then that's really consuming for a 1.6l car.
Expect the FC to be more if you upgrade to a 2.4l car. hehehe...

A catalytic converter is a device used to reduce the toxicity of emissions from an internal combustion engine. First widely introduced on series-production automobiles in the US market for the 1975 model year to comply with tightening EPA regulations on auto exhaust, catalytic converters are still most commonly used in motor vehicle exhaust systems. Catalytic converters are also used on generator sets, forklifts, mining equipment, trucks, buses, trains, and other engine-equipped machines. A catalytic converter provides an environment for a chemical reaction wherein toxic combustion by products are converted to less-toxic gases. The catalytic converter was invented at Trinity College.

Atleast I pay what I need. Spectra FC high but power is so underpower, 2.4 i try b4, if FC high power high is nothing for me. :X-:

lowfan, you're welcome. :)

Invoke, if you're looking for high power cars and you don't mind bad FC, why don't you consider other cars like the Altezza, four door skyline or even lancer evo?

Invoke, go for the flashy S15 la...
Drive it while you can.
Later on only go for saloon when you have your own family.
But if you wanna form Accord gang, it will also be a good news.
One of my friend who owns an Accord is eagerly looking for members to form a new Accord club.
Maybe you all can join venture into forming this club?

Just my little 2 cents... :)

Mmm... with reference to the my message dated 11/11/2006, I need to make a correction what I mentioned earlier about kerb weight of the Spectra as I was once told it was 1570kg and went on to believe so as it was also mentioned elsewhere at www.paultan.org.

But I looked up the Spectra Owner's Manual and under specification, noted there is "GVWR" that states 1570kg whereas "Curb Weight" that states "1112-1187"kg for the Type 4HB 1600DOHC engine.

So I checked up Wikipedia for the meaning and found that:

"A gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle that is loaded to capacity, including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and other miscellaneous items such as extra aftermarket parts"

whereas

"Curb (kerb) weight is the total weight of an automobile with standard equipment, motor oil, coolant, a full tank of fuel and not loaded with either passengers or cargo"

For comparision, www.nazakia.com.my quotes the Spectra Novus kerb weight to be between 1,110 – 1,139kg whereas at www.eon.com.my quotes the kerb weight of the Proton Waja 1.6 4AT engine as 1205kg

Thus it can sum up that the KIA Spectra's kerb weight is the heavier 1187kg but is lighter than the Waja 1.6 AT.
