Right now i'm using apexi power intake for about a year on b16a, the prob is my car suddenly feels no power and higher fuel concumption. After i took my car to a workshop, thet told me my car air filter is dirty(connot suck air properly), they charged me RM20 to clen the air filter and told me to change to hks super power flow. After the i can feel the power back.

after a month, i can feel my car losing power again. I was wondering how can i clean my apexi power intake myself.
1.Can i use the cleaner from K&n?
2.can use water and soap or not?
3.or should i changed to HKS?

I only consider the 3rd option as my last result. thanks for the info and help.

after i changed from my OEM to open port, my fc surprising getting better. But may be bcos my OEM air box only got a tiny hole at the bottom, maybe too little air getting in. afte the changes my pedal feel lighter as well. my engine is D16 vtec auto.

Open pod is not so affective for auto cars. Try use drop-in air filter
why most people claim drop in better for auto? any reason for it? Personal i feel open port better for my auto, but maybe placement of CAI is important too...and also the material, i am using fiber type not stainless type.

For auto, its best to use a aftermarket drop-in filter.... Cos auto cars need back pressure to move off... Thats y open pods r not adviserble...... That what my mech told me lar... so far i'm using drop-in KNN and the result is good. But sad, u can't hear the ceerroonngg..cerroongg...sound lar.. eheheh..

Those after market air filter element u put into your "stock airbox" is refered as drop-in..... Available brands r : Apexi, Spoon, Simota, HKS, UniFilter, etc........

those big cone shaped filters r refered as open pod..... Got many brands also... EG. : K&N, Apexi, Blitz, etc.....

Hope my explaination is clear enough..... Cheers.....

Special thanks to : unknown1x for the idea of CF spray.
We used 2 types of stensil , diamond shaped and box shape. Clearly , it wasn't neat..but it's our 1st try anyways :cyclops:
