So moral of the story, stock is best? Should have bought the Evo?

lol.

The pain I went through doing the swap on my boat also makes me think bolt on is better than swapping. The more you change/mod, the more problems gonna pop up.
Actually, moral of the story is next time do the transplant myself rather than buy one that's relatively unknown in detail.

Evo probably will have it's own set of headaches that I'd be complaining about. I was looking at the Evo 3, 7 and 9 only and all have their own set of issues man.

https://www.facebook.com/BMW-convert-club-698781210242962/

maybe can send to this mr lee?
i followed his page since last year and damn.....his works on transplanting jz engines in bmw chassis was very nice and tidy!!

i believe he did some troubleshooting too, for those with wiring problem issues for JZ in conti / other chassis.
Thanks for the link! Very useful link. I'm not familiar with Mr Lee though. I'll stalk his page from today onwards

Totally understand your feeling bro Izso. Myself is man with family to support really cant spend a lot of money and time on car nowadays. Sometimes i keep asking myself is it worth the hassles playing old car that need to fix here and there. After spent so much end of day the machine just idle at porch rather than driving at most time. Or is it better to buy relatively newer car for daily with handling and cosmetic upgrades.

Anyway recommend you to watch this Malaysia Initial D.Quite interesting story with his new bought AE86 that required so much fixes. I'm sure watching his journey resembles much like one of us here. Wish you happy new cny and happy modding

transplant engine even on same platform has its own issue. cost me additional close to 50% of the transplant cost to fix the issue but worth it as i get a sleeper car with decent power on demand.

any critical issue on evo3 ? rust chassis?

you can do it! :driver:

Evo3s are probably rust and constantly being hassled by JPJ for being a potential Wira convert.

Evo 7 isn't exactly young anymore and extremely hard to find a virgin car. Most have been modded and I don't fancy modded ones.

Evo 9 was too expensive. Couldn't justify the cost vs the age of the car.

And I say all this after my experience with this BMW 1JZ. Sigh. Should've just bit the bullet and bought that Evo 9. Less headache.

Evo 9 wont have the European Ride feel....
That is something the Evo will never be able to provide.

Evo 3 prices also crazy for its age coz too rare nowadays, even more expensive than 4/5/6/7!?

Evo 9 also not easy finding nearly stock ones, mostly modded.

Actually now with the Bimmer running on hotbits front, custom dunno what rear, it's not exactly Euro either. I'm changing to Ftuned soon. The boss let me sit in his E46 Race spec and my gawd it was so comfortable. So technically my lower end Touge spec should be even comfier.

No RAGRETS.. but too late even if I wanted to anyway.

Grey wrapped silver pill. Bitter like hell but what a kick.

Large silver/grey colored one with 4 sport rims and large exhaust
It's not gonna remain grey

If coilovers changed to FTuned, does that still considered Euro feel?
Yes...he cant swap the key component whch is the chassis..

Another key factor of euro feel is the weight of the vehicle.I wonder how much the weight difference after the engine swap.

Way over priced, should be in the region of 110-120k tops. Even 2-3 yrs ago I saw one already down to rm125k, full stock in excellent condition, year 2006, and in a used car dealer some more so can go even lower, sold in just 1-2 weeks. Then I've seen another 2006 MR about 1.5-2 yrs ago asking only rm115, not completely stock (but still using stock turbo), pretty good condition and sold in just 2-3 weeks I believe. Lately there was 1 in FB forums relatively stock asking 115k nego, but maybe now sold already.

Alternatively you can opt for 8MR as well, almost as good as the 9, some even claim the handling is better as it's not as sharp/more forgiving especially in the wet. Just lacking a bit low end punch compared to the 9 with MIVEC but that can be modded/tuned later match. The 8MR now is asking about 90+k for relatively stock cars.

It's no longer an option. I'm sticking with the E36

Yeah thanks. That guy is pretty impressive but I heard a rumour about these sort of converts these days are hard to get approval or are one time only converts with their reg cards being non transferrable and all that shit.

Hi bros,

I have a few questions here.

Last week i re-installed my Vacuum Gauge from my old car (Iswara 1.3) to my Vios '05.

Due to the Vacuum hose is too big in diameter (8mm) for the T-joint (to the sensor), I changed the hose to a small diameter (7mm).

Question is:

1.) will it affect the engine if i change the hose diameter to a smaller size?
2.) the mechanic said that Vios is not advisable to intall a Vacuum Gauge as it need sufficient air. Is this true? I have not come...
