McLaren to introduce a new track-focused 650S called the 675 LT?

McLaren 675 LT

Ever since the launch of the P1, McLaren has been pretty busy in introducing new models into the market. After the 650S, 625S, and the P1 GTR, they proceeded to reveal the 650S Le Mans special edition recently and we also have the Sport Series soon to be revealed somewhere in April 2015. But before the Sport Series takes the stage, McLaren has lined up another special model set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

What McLaren is ready to share to the world is a new track-focused 650S variant with a couple of teaser photos to prove this is no rumour. The photos clearly show that the car is in fact 650-based, and since it is going to be a track-focused variant, the twin-turbocharged3.8-liter V8 engine will be pumped up to produce 675-horsepower.

With such output, word has been spreading saying that the new McLaren will be called the 675 LT; where the 675 refers to the horsepower while ‘LT’ stands for Long Tail, signifying the long tail design similar to the one used on the iconic F1 GTR Long Tail.

If you could recall, McLaren had already introduced a track-focused 650S called the 650S Sprint. But the Sprint is limited to track duties only and not for the streets. Could this new variant basically be a road version of the Sprint? Only time will tell as we wait for the 2015 Geneva Motor Show to commence on March 3.
