While the looks of the new Acura NSX is not that much of a mystery, the car still needs to go through a lot of testing until it could reach the production stage. Not long after the car was seen going furiously around the Green Hell, the prototype was consumed by flames, instantly bringing the testing session to an end. The driver managed to pull over and jumped out of the prototype before the car was engulfed in flames. According to the onlookers, the fire started from the rear before spreading to other parts of the car.

For the time being, it has yet to be ascertained on what exactly caused the fire. The car’s twin-turbocharged engine, gearbox and one of the three electric motors are situated in the rear compartment.

While this blaze might cause a few setbacks, it is lucky for them that the fire occurred during testing before it actually enters the production stage as engineers can look into the problem and rectifies the situation. The drivetrain of the new Acura NSX is a complex system, incorporating a twin-turbocharged V6 engine with three electric motors; in which two of them power the front wheels.
