The battle of the hot hatches has always been focusing on the usual suspects like the Renault Megane, the VW Golf and the Ford Focus. Keen to show that they also got what it takes, Nissan recently unveiled their latest candidate for the C-segment to go against its European counterparts. This is the new Nissan Pulsar.

Nissan claims that this new Pulsar “offers considerably more legroom and shoulder room than its sector rivals”. With 692mm of knee room for the rear passengers, they said that it is “more spacious than many D-segment offerings.”

On the outside, the features of the car seems to have adapted the styling cues from the latest Qashqai and X-Trail crossovers, with the trademark V-motion grille and profile lines. The interior has yet to be unveiled to the public, but Nissan says that they will be taking a “premium approach” with “high quality materials and clear design”.

The new Nissan Pulsar comes with a variant of power plants. One could opt for a 1.2-liter DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine that pushes out 113-horsepower, a 1.5-liter dCi diesel with 108-horsepower, and the top-of-the-line 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol with 187-horsepower. Nissan will be offering both the manual and XTronic automatic transmission.
