The Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe is already a beast, considering that it has a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine pushing out a massive 577-horsepower to punish the rear tires. But we know for sure that the Germans will always be wanting for more power in this sexy coupe, which is why they stuffed a massive V12 under the hood and gave birth to the new S65 AMG Coupe.
Yes, you heard that right. Residing under this coupe’s hood is a V12 engine, similar to the ones powering the S65 AMG sedan and the SL65 AMG. The 6.0-liter engine is boosted by two turbochargers, granting it access to 621-horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. Zerotohundred takes only 4.0 seconds and top speed is in the region of 300km/h.
Sending the power to the rear via a seven-speed automatic transmission, drivers can choose between Controlled Efficiency, Sport and Manual settings for the gearbox. An engine start-stop system is also included and is activated in the Controlled Efficiency mode.
And with great power comes great responsibility. A set of brakes with steel discs bring the German monster to a halt, but AMG also offers customers carbon ceramic units to those wanting a deeper bite. Slotted nicely behind the 20-inch forged wheels, the S65 AMG wears 255/40 size tires for the front and 285/35 in the rear.
Even with a monstrous V12 under the hood, Mercedes said that it uses no more than 11.9l of fuel per 100km. The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Coupe is priced at €244,009 (RM 1,054,118).
