Caterham Seven is Now Officially and Legally Available in the US through Superperformance!

It is a bit weird on how the regulations over in the USA work. While other parts of the world are enjoying finely crafted cars like the Pagani Huayra, such masterpiece is deemed non-street legal in the States. However, it seems that they had relaxed the tight rules for a bit as the bare and no-frills Caterham Seven is now not only available officially, but also legally in the USA.

Celebrating the New Year with this great news, the Seven is offered in a number of different versions from Caterham’s official distributor. The California-based Superperformance offers a wide range that includes the Seven 480 and the new Seven 620R which is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 310-horsepower.

“In the last two years, Caterham has significantly broadened its reach internationally and signing a new official distributor in the form of Superperformance in America is a natural extension of how our brand is expanding, rapidly, across the globe”, said Caterham Group CEO Graham Macdonald.

“The US market has always been a difficult one for us, thanks to the stringent federal homologation rules. But we know there is an appetite for our particular brand of lightweight and performance and we already exported our SP/300.R to the States through Dyson Racing”, he added.
