Zerotohundred’s Coverage of the KL International Motor Show! – Hall 1 & Hall 2

The Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show makes a comeback to bring the folks of Malaysia the best that the auto scene could offer. With participation from various big and established car manufacturers from both local and international, the 2013 edition of the KLIMS has a lot in store for the visitors.

Being held at the Putra World Trade Center from November 15 – 24, the KLIMS ’13 covers 4 exhibition halls, all jam packed with various types of cars that you could find in the market. The Lexus/Toyota booth was the one that greeted us upon arrival…

…and boy oh boy, are we glad to see this rare machine here. Claimed to be unit #493 out of the 500 units built, the Lexus LFA stands proudly at the entrance of Lexus’ booth, attracting every single eye that passes by.

We also have our eyes glued to the IS F Sport. Although we are already loving its looks from pictures on the net, seeing it in flesh just quadruples our love on this Japanese performance/luxury sedan.

Talking about luxury, Lexus also brought down a couple more newly-launched sedans that bear their redesigned “hourglass” front grille like the ES 250 and the LS 460 L.

Toyota decorates their booth with fresh cars like the Vios TRD Sportivo and the Previa, but we are interested in the concept cars they had on display.

While the NS4 looks like their take on how their next-gen hybrid sedan will look like,…

…the Fun-Vii Concept is definitely something unique that you do not see much. Stands for Vehicle Interactive Internet, the Fun-Vii is Toyota’s vision “of where people, cars and society are linked”.

Volkswagen is just next door, and they had brought in the whole cavalry to make a presence at KLIMS ’13. Aside from their usual line up of Golfs and the Polo,…

…special edition models like this Beetle Fender and this Polo bathed in their WRC livery had also made an appearance.

Honda sits in the other hall with names like Subaru, Nissan and Infiniti, but their line-up is not too bad either. While cars like the track-only Jazz driven by the Honda Malaysia Racing Team does pull a lot of attention,…

…it is the CR-Z Mugen RR Concept that is the star of the show. Featuring a glossy bright orange paintjob and a more aggressive bodykit spiced up with dashes of carbon fiber, it is too bad that this car still retains its ‘Concept’ badge.

Subaru has an array of all-wheelers to liven up their exhibition area like the Forester and the XV,…

…but the ones that we are more interested in the most are none other than their WRX STi and the rear-wheeler BRZ.

While Honda and Subaru have done it right, we would love to see more performance-oriented cars standing together with the daily cars at Nissan’s booth. Instead, we only find family cars like the Almera, Livina, Serena and the Note.

The Navara with a tent on top does look wicked, though.

Infiniti stills need time to spread its wings into Malaysian market, but that does not mean they will just keep it humble in KLIMS. Present on their booth are not just the road-going cars like the Q70 and the QX70,…

…the dominating Infiniti Red Bull Formula 1 car on display makes this Japanese luxury automaker’s booth impossible not to notice.

Stay tuned as we will bring more updates from KLIMS 2013!
