Nissan Almera Officially Launched By ETCM!

Following Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd’s (ETCM) August announcement about the introduction of the Almera into Malaysia, today marks the official reveal of the B-segment Almera sedan which can now be seen, felt and of course bought at your nearest Nissan showroom.

ETCM has already allowed for bookings to commence for the Almera, with Nissan boasting of its upscale technological features and best in class superiority in spaciousness that’s usually found in more premium vehicles. As such, there have already been 2,000 units confirmed to be booked.

As mentioned by Right now the Almera can be had at rather competitive On-The-Road (OTR) prices that start with the base-line offering of the Grade E variant with an M/T or A/T at RM66,800 or RM69,800 respectively.

A step higher would be the Grade V variant that comes only with an A/T for RM76,800 as does the full-specification Grade VL (A/T) at RM79,800.

In any case, regardless of which grade you do decide to pick, you’ll be sitting pretty happy with copious amounts of rear leg-room , 490L of boot space, Nissan’s intelligent Key, ETCM also reiterated that more personalization can be had with the availability of the exclusive Almera Optional Accessories that include an on board multi-media navigation console, iPod, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Even the kick-plate can be changed out for one equipped with LED lighting and leather seats will also be made available for those who have a little more budget and would like to add a touch of luxury to their cabin.

If it’s not so much of a stately affair that you want, but rather the opposite, then there’s always the Sport accessories by IMPUL Motor Racing Development that’s available for all three grades, where the complete package will require an additional RM9,500 to be added to your final bill.

Again, the Almera is built on the new “V” (Versatile) platform that uses high tensile steel for its chassis enabling it to shed some weight while it maintains a rigid body.

Nissan’s 1.5L (H15DE) engine finds its way under the hood for all variants that been engineered with Continuously Variable-valve Timing Control (CVTC) that’ll provide 100bhp at 6,000rpm and 139Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

Nissan says that the engine is very much capable of providing you with excellent fuel efficiency of 14.9km/L (A/T) or 15.9km/L (M/T).

With safety in mind, our Almera will come equipped with front airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist. ISOFIX Child Seats System has also been dialled into the provisions.

The Nissan Almera is now available with your choice of 5 colours, namely Bronze Gold, Sapphire Black, Twilight Grey, Tungsten Silver and Brilliant White.

Currently, there’s no word as to whether there’s plans for making Malaysia the export hub for the ASEAN market due to the fact that ETCM’s plant is already at full capacity in trying to satisfy our local demand.
