Production NSX Scheduled to Debut at 2013 Detroit Auto Show

If some of you might remember, the Acura NSX Concept was unveiled to the world back in the 2012 Detroit Auto Show and to put it in short, it looks great. But like the name suggests, this is only the Concept version; which means that there might be some trimming down done for the exterior, interior, or both when it goes down to the production version.

That definite answer for the matter might be revealed next year as Auto Express reported that a Honda representative said that the production version of this long-awaited Japanese supercar will debut the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

The details for this new NSX are still sketchy for the time being, but Auto Express’ report stated that the production version will somehow be “identical” to the concept NSX revealed back in January. And although it is widely called as the Acura NSX, it will still bear the “Honda” badge in the UK, like how most UK-sold Acuras did.

Like the previous NSX, this predecessor will also be powered by a V6 engine, except that the propulsion is assisted with an electric motor and sending the power to all four tires. Although the NSX Concept had already taken shape and the production version only months away from making a debut, it is not expected to roll off the factories until at least 2015.

Looks like next year’s Detroit Auto Show will be a supercar showdown as not only the NSX will be making an appearance, the new Ferrari F70 and the 2014 Corvette will also be making a debut at the same arena.
