MV Agusta Brutale 800 Break’s Cover

At first, MV Agusta introduced their 4-cylinder Brutales and what was to follow was a smaller displacement 3-cylinder 675, all this while following in the footsteps of the Ducati’s Streetfighter range. Now enter the 3-cylinder MV Agusta Brutale 800.

Using the same motor to power the MV Agusta Rivale with a 3-cylinder 798cc stroked-out version of the Brutale’s 675 motor. Stroke length gets increased from 45.9mm to 54.3mm, while the bore remains at 79mm.

Power now peaks at 123bhp at 11,600 rpm (up 12bhp over the 675) and 80Nm of torque at 8,600rpm (15% increase) – all for a claimed top speed of 246kmh.

The MV Agusta’s dry weight is claimed at 167kg that makes it about 4kg heavier from the Brutale 675, and now sports twin 320mm discs up front with higher-spec Brembo mono blocs and fully adjustable suspension (both front and aft).

Substantial electronic trickery can be had including 8 levels of traction control through the MVICS electronics package and one optional accessory called the Electronically Assisted Shift (EAS) system that will come standard in the white / blue pearl “Italy” edition.

The new MV Agusta Brutale 800 is due to be officially unveiled at the upcoming EICMA bike show in Milan later this month. That’s in about a fortnight.
