Mercedes GP Petronas Unveils It’s 2010 Car For The First Time

Mercedes unveiled its 2010 car earlier today in the Valencia pit lane. The German manufacturer launched its team last week but this is the first time the public has seen its car. Named the MGP W01, the car will get its first run this morning in the hands of Nico Rosberg before Michael Schumacher returns to action in an F1 car for the first time since confirming his comeback.

The car features many of the details seen on its 2010 rivals, such as an engine cover fin and higher nose. The team is hoping to build on the championship-winning success it enjoyed last year under the Brawn name with Jenson Button.

After Sauber and Renault launched their cars yesterday, Toro Rosso and Williams will take the wraps off their new cars on Monday as well. Also present at the test will be Ferrari and McLaren, while Red Bull, Force India and the four new teams will skip it to focus on developing their cars at their bases.
